At the time we began working with this now highly successful group it was in some disarray with a number of underperforming divisions and some critical projects in trouble. Our brief was to work with the new CEO to identify areas of leader capability risk and develop and implement solutions to close the gap between the requirements of the strategy and the internally available capabilities of the incumbent managers. This required a combination of individual elevation, work with the CEO and his team on its effectiveness, and the reassignment of some people. It also identified capability gaps that could not be met from within.
